Web Portfolio

Any day now I'll be posting:

I'll be finishing these up over the next month or so, please check back for links!

I created this online portfolio for my brother, who is a photographer in Ventura, CA. I used SlideShowPro and SlideShow Pro Director to set up the site so that he could upload new photos, reorganize the portfolio, and add captions through a web browser.

Anne Dicker is currently running for Pennsylvania State Senate. I created a new, grassroots-focused, web site for the campaign with a large variety of features. There are multiple blog pages broken down by category, a robust calendar, and a page where people can submit their personal endorsements, to name a few. The site is built with Joomla, and we are using Mint Analytics to provide a snapshot of who is visiting the site, and what pages her supporters are finding most helpful.

This is a simple site I created for my friend Nora Manz, who has a cake making business. There is a simple slide show, set up with SlideShowPro, an elegant and easy to update flash application. We will be setting it up so that she can add photos to the slide show, and edit captions through a flickr account.

A site built through the my work at PHMC, the "get REAL" project is a campaign to promote frank discussions about HIV, safer sex and the health and well being of young gay and bisexual men in Philadelphia. "get REAL" is a collaboration between the Philadelphia Health Management Corporation and Mazzoni Center.

A site developed for my brother, a sports photographer in California. He spent a season shooting photographs of a renowned local high school baseball team. He wanted a quick way to put the photographs on the internet, so that parents of the team could browse , and order prints of whichever ones they liked.

A site created for Darryl Pickworth, a cartographer in Portland, Oregon. The site was created so he could present his portfolio online to prospective clients. Visitors to the site are able to browse through thumbnails of his work, clicking on them to get a very large zoom of the image they would like to view. A private FTP area, to be used by Darryl and his clients for large file transfers, will soon be developed. This site is developed through Joomla, an open source content management system which allows users to edit the content of their site from any computer, through the internet. By developing the site in this way, I gave Darryl the ability to add to his portfolio as he produces more work.

A site I worked on at a former job, the Center for Educational Design and Communication (CEDC), where we specialized in web site development for non profits and social justice organizations. This site was also developed with Joomla. The client, a progressive Catholic non-profit, wanted their site to resemble the look of a patriotic political web site. I designed the layout of the site, and performed the initial setup. The site is now controlled completely by the Catholic Alliance through the content management system.

This site, for a network of Catholic Schools, was developed and designed by a co-worker at the CEDC, however I was in charge of developing a number of charts and interactive maps, linked above. The locations of the schools within the network are marked on a U.S. and international map. Clicking on a locations brings the viewer to more information about that school or country.

Another site developed in Joomla while working at the CEDC. This was a site redesign for the organization Living Wages, a non-profit community organization that provides adult education to residents of Southeast D.C.. I redesigned the layout, keeping in mind the initial branding of the organization, while making the site more user friendly and visually appealing. The site is now controlled completely by the Living Wages through the content management system.
